World Book Day is celebrated every year but this year we had a theme, ‘strong female characters in stories’. The children from St Paul’s Infant School and North Borough Junior School had the opportunity to dress up as their favourite strong female character or a character from a book that was written by a female author. Everyone involved looked amazing! Homemade costumes of characters from books by Julia Donaldson and J.K. Rowling looked excellent. Everyone enjoyed doing the planned activities that the teachers had planned for the children to do, from year 2 writing their very own books and year R making worm shaped book marks. We even had a visit from a dinosaur that greeted everyone at the gate and hyped up all the children on the playground at lunch time.
