Our Forest School provision is run by Richard Whiting from 'Wild Sticks'. Each year group has an 8 week block of sessions with Richard; 15 children from each class attend for 2 hours, 1 day per week within the 8 week block. The children are provided with puddle suits and bring their own wellies to wear to the forest as they are encouraged to engage in messy, muddy, wet play!

Richard:
"Hello, my name is Richard and I am the Forest School Leader for Wild Sticks. I have over 12 years of experience in Education, with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Childhood Studies, a Forest School Level 3 Qualification and I am a trained Outdoor Paediatric First Aider. Wild Sticks is an independent company providing the federation with the opportunity for all children to have a fully immersive Forest School experience.
At Wild Sticks, we practice the 5 principles of Forest School; Comfort, Beauty, Emotions, Meaning and Compassion. These practices have been proven to support children with building their self-esteem, independence and confidence through outdoor, child led play. Nature provides us with great tools to enhance our learning, creating a connection with our surroundings, creating problem solving tasks and encouraging team building through play and observation. Forest School is open through most weathers and with this comes the advantage to engage in observing all of the seasons. A puddle suit is provided by school, but you must provide appropriate clothing and wellies to enable the children to participate during their given slot.
Take a look at our Facebook Page 'Wild Sticks'. We provide weekly updates on what the children have done and also photos of the fun!"
