St.Pauls Infant School

Wednesday 22nd July

PDF version available at the bottom of this page.

Good Morning Year R, please see below the activities we would like you to do today. Remember you can take photos (if you have made, shown or drawn something) or use your exercise book to write any sentences or complete any number sentences. You can ask your grown-up to put your work on Tapestry so we can see what you have been up to. Also, please use this link to access daily speed sound phonics: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ?reload=9

We hope you have fun!

English

LO:  I can write a poem.

Activity:

Today is the last day of term and your last day in Reception! We are all so proud of everything you have all achieved this year and how well you have coped with having your first year at school interrupted! It has not been easy but you have all worked so hard and come so far since we first met this time last year. We will miss you all lots but look forward to seeing you all in September and seeing how well you all do in Year One!

We have found a poem which we would like you all to read:

We think you’re very special,

And we just wanted you to know,

That you have been amazing,

We’re so sad to see you go!

We loved our time together,

We laughed and smiled and learned,

You’ve all worked so very hard,

Now enjoy this break you’ve earned.

Remember to come and visit,

We would love to see you grow,

You have a lot to learn ahead,

But there is one thing you should know:

The thing that makes you wonderful,

And will shine through all you do,

Is just to be yourself,

And be proud that you are you!

Can you have a go at writing a poem to show how you feel at the end of this year. You could write an acrostic poem using the words End Of Year or Goodbye, or you could work with your grown up to try and write a poem that rhymes.

Good luck and have a lovely summer!

Maths

LO: I can name and talk about the value of coins.

Activity

Do some coin rubbings. You will need a selection of coins, paper and crayons or pencils. Put the coin under your paper and colour on top. What is the name and value of the coin- how do you know?

Curriculum

LO: I can move in time with the music.

Activity:

Can you choose your favourite song and create a dance routine to go with it?

You can wear your party hat that you made yesterday and perform your dance routine in front of your family, then have a party to celebrate finishing Reception- you deserve it!

Stay safe, best wishes from Miss Gill, Miss Baldwin and Mrs Gedge xxx
