Friday 17th July

PDF version available at the bottom of this page.

Good Morning Year R, please see below the activities we would like you to do today. Remember you can take photos (if you have made, shown or drawn something) or use your exercise book to write any sentences or complete any number sentences. You can ask your grown-up to put your work on Tapestry so we can see what you have been up to. Also, please use this link to access daily speed sound phonics:

We hope you have fun!

LO:  I can use describing words.

Can you write your name down the side of your page? Next to each letter, write a word or sentence that describes you that begins with that sound. You can do it as a poster and make it colourful if you’d like.

B- Brilliant

E- Energetic

N- Never gives up!

LO: I can solve mathematical problems.

Today we are going to tell you a mathematical story that has some problems to solve along the way! To solve these problems you will need to use your adding and sharing skills. Good luck!

One day baby Bear decided to throw a party so Mummy bear made him some cakes and told him to make sure he shared them fairly between him and his friends.

She made him 6 cakes. Then Goldilocks arrived. How many cakes did her and Baby Bear have each?

Then the Big Bad Wolf arrived so they then had to share with him as well! How many cakes did they now have each? Remember they still had 6 altogether.

Then Mummy Bear made 4 more cakes. How many cakes were there altogether now? Could Baby Bear share them equally with his guests now?

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and more guests arrived! Now Robin Hood and Little Red Riding Hood were at the party too! How many guests were there now? Could they share the cakes equally between them? How many cakes did they have each?

If you managed to keep up with all of those problems then well done! Could you write your own maths story like this? We would love to read them!

LO: I can sing songs I have learnt at school.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our virtual summer concert. At this time of year, at St Paul’s, we love to come together to sing our favourite songs. Click on the links below to sing along to some of our favourite songs from your time at school.

Try your best:
