Transition activity


Today we would like you to create your own ‘Spreading My Wings From Year 2 to Year 3’ booklet/poster. This will be a mixture of your St Paul’s memories, favourite subjects, friends as well as things you are looking forward to in year 3 and some information about you outside of school too.


You can either use the PDF document attached or if you are unable to print at home you can create your own booklet/poster using paper, pens etc that you have at home (you could also create a booklet on Purple Mash if you love using the computer!) As well as writing you could print/draw pictures and then bring this into school with you in September (or take photos to share if it is not yet safe to bring belongings into school) to share with your new teacher!


If you’re feeling arty, you could also create your own butterfly to show how you are ‘spreading your wings’ ready to fly to year 3. Here are some ideas of how you could do this;

Please also remember that it is ok to be feeling emotional at the moment. We are all feeling the same! We hope that the activities we have planned this week have helped you to also think about the things you are excited about as you begin your new journey at Junior School.

LO: I can create clues about a number of my choice.    


Yesterday you worked out the clues to find our missing number. Today create 4 clues for us to work out your missing number.

Ideas for your clues may include:

My number is between X and X

If you count in twos /threes / fives / tens you will say my number.

My number can be share equally between 2 / 3/ 5/ 10 people.

If you add / subtract ten to my number it will have x tens.

My number is one more / less than X

My number is ten more / less than X

My number would have X beads on an abacus.

You will need to change those parts highlighted in yellow as shown in the pdf on our website.
